New Day and new lifestyle

So here I am, finally posting.

What are my goals? Simple:

1. lose some weight
2. Gain a LOT of muscle and become fit
3. Lower my BMI
4. Bike 50 miles
5. Bench press 250 lbs
6. Love great foods

So, today's day one. I am going to use my "FitDay" software as well as a lot of help from my mother who is a registered dietitian. For years I ignored her helpful hints but now I am finding out how much I want to change my life.

Writing down EVERYTHING I eat is going to be a major help. Being truly 100% accountable in terms of what goes in the body is a big thing. I'm a perfect example of the "fast-food" lifestyle. How hard is it for me to turn down a double cheeseburger (those things taste like total crap) and eat something wholesome, organic, and yes, TASTY. You know what's truly funny? I love eating healthy food. I hate preparing it. I'm going to work hard at this by preparing many meals at a time, healthy steaming (I just bought a food steamer and it's awesome... very easy to use other than the steam burns... use potholders!), and avoiding huge food chains like Burger King, Mc D's, etc. Subway is now my only choice. Takes a few minutes longer but wahh. It's something I HAVE to do.

I woke up at 6AM as well. It's not hard to get to the gym and do the work. I just haven't. I've been one lazy sack of potatoes... actually many sacks. But that's okay. You have start one day at a time. I got there this morning did my lifting. On the way back I also bought some "perfect push up" bars so I can work out if I can't get to the gym (like tomorrow). There's always walking...

Anyhoo, I'm off to practicing. That's my real job, but this has to be my biggest "hobby" and passion.

Stay tuned...
